Video - How To: Fit a Blast Gate Damper to Spiral Ducting
Video Transcript:
Hi Guys, today we are going to show you how to fit a Blast Gate Damper into Spiral Ducting. Here we have a section of spiral and a blast gate damper (I have already broken down the Blast Gate by taking out the nuts and bolts).
First, we need to identify where we want the Blast Gate Damper to sit. We are going to mark a spot where we want the blade to be. Take the bottom section of the blast gate damper and place it on the mark you have just made and draw around the bottom section. At the end of the line on both lines we are going to need to drill a hole before we cut the slot- we are not going to cut this now, but here is one I made earlier.
We recommend you cut and then clean the slot to be around 6mm wide. You then take the top section of the Blast Gate Damper and push it into the spiral, making sure it is all square. Push it down and make sure the blade moves easily in and out. We can then fit the bottom section simply by bolting it back together.
Here is one we did earlier - just make sure the blade moves freely. If you do not want the hassle of cutting a slot into Spiral, you can order one of our pre-cut Blast Gate Damper slots.
That's how you cut a Blast Gate Damper slot into Spiral Ducting - thanks for watching!
