Video - Comparison of PU Flex and Heavy Duty Blue Spiral
Video Transcript:
Hi Guys! Today we will be comparing our two best selling types of Flexible Ducting. Both Flexible Ductings have a copper-plated steel wire trapped between two layers of polyurethane. The differences between the two are as follows:
We will start with the wall thickness, these are both 100mm in diameter. The medium duty flexible ducting has a wall thickness of 0.4mm, compared to the blue spiral which is 50% thicker at 0.65mm - this means it can withstand larger and more abrasive material.
Next, we will explain the bend radius. This is measured to the inside curvature and is the minimum radius that you can bend the pipe. As you can see, the medium duty flexible ducting can bend a lot more than the blue spiral.
If we take a look inside both of the flexs, the blue spiral has a smoother internal wall to the medium duty. However, the medium duty flex can be compressed more easily than the blue spiral.
These are the two main differences to take into account when choosing the best type of flexible ducting for your requirements.
These are just two of a large range that we offer! Thanks for watching.
